更新前言：事件曝光後，更多資料陸續出籠，當中既有投訴人稱聲「事件已遭解決」的聲明、也有中大校董寫下的感想，甚至連高登論壇也有張貼，有人身攻擊成份之嫌的「內幕」。幾篇資料互相矛盾，叫人對事件更摸不著頭腦，本著歷史求真精神，本座將幾篇關鍵性文章新加在此文最後的附錄，以供各位參考，並不代表本人任何立場。

1. 應不負眾望引疚辭職，除辭去一切教務，亦不能在逸夫書院擔任任何職務，包括第二學生宿舍舍監一職。
2. 需發出公開道歉信，以電郵(mass mail)或信函形式向所有逸夫書院教職員及學生道歉，由於有大量受影響學生已畢業，故此收信者的名單需從陳竟明在任其間計算。
3. 需於辭職後，再出席至小三次書院聚會(college assembly)，並需於台上向所有在場逸夫書院學生及教職員作出公開道歉。(原文照錄)
本座不禁錯以為陳是否曾殺人放火強姦兼肢解？把他認為嘈吵的學生趕走、說了句「好狗唔攔路」（先假設真有其事）就要至少出席三次書院聚會公開道歉、還要在「莫須有」的情況下背上得罪＊＊全逸夫所有教職員及學生、包括在任期間內已畢業學生＊＊，難道學生「鬥臭」老師的火紅時代甚麼時候來到了中大？日後我在經過逸夫書院時會看到有教授戴著牛鬼蛇神帽，被圍著紅領巾的紅衛兵迫著跪玻璃嗎？
當然，在眾多學生同聲聲討下，陳教授遲早也會面對大眾，解釋事件因由，然而在群情洶湧的同時，也請容許本座以中大舊生的身份說說對他的印象：雖然我沒有直接修過他的科目，但也有幾個機會和他打個照面，甚至聊上兩句。或許陳教授早已忘了我這臉孔，但在我的心目中，他永遠是那麼爽朗，是一個和藹可親的謙謙君子；身邊有數位曾修讀其學科的朋友和同學，但對他的教學和個人印象，無不稱許有嘉。
其後（也是很多年以前的事了）在傳媒中得知原來陳教授也為民主黨成員，曾持續為民主、環保、毒奶粉以至城大大學教職員薪酬待遇問題，甚至連回鄉證也被沒收掉，不禁讓我對他更肅然起敬。或許在「二底」當晚所發生的是真有其事，或許他為了維護自己舍監的尊嚴真的有過火的行為和言語，但若要陳教授因此被推上文革的批鬥場、甚至因此被解職，我本人要說上千萬句反對。
本人與陳教授只屬萍水之交，也不是逸夫人，並不存在甚麼利益衝突；各位也不用急著反駁這裡為陳教授所說的「好說話」，畢竟，一人之口難敵FACEBOOK數百人的同聲指責，無權無勢的本人也不會對陳教授處境會有何幫助。只是，對於陳教授這位好老師的一番感受，實在不吐不快。

睇番FACEBOOK的討論，當事人的指控的確有理有節，而且也不是一意要將陳教授置之死地。他和院方以及陳教授見面，討論有關事宜，而陳舍監於會面上承認他曾經在執行宿舍規條時有言行失當的行為，並在會面上作出致歉。沈祖堯院長亦在FACEBOOK發出相關聲明，表示陳教授已經道歉。
而當事人亦發現自己措辭過激，已經將標題更改。相信事件將會告一段落。
沈祖堯院長聲明：
Dear Students, Alumni and Friends of Shaw College,
I have kept silent about this incidence until today because I wish to find out all the facts and get the involved parties to sit down together in a calm atmosphere to resolve the situation before responding to this message on the facebook.
1. Prof. KM Chan, in at least two occasions, has used words and attitude that hurts feeling of our students and he has now realized that this is inappropriate. In a meeting with Increase and four other students in my office, in the presence of Prof. Freedom Leung, representatives from SCSU and Hotel II SU, he bowed and apologise to students that he has offended. He has also sent a letter of apology to Monte which is going to be released to all Shaw College students tody. Undisputably, Prof. Chan is wrong in some of these incidence and he has sincerely apologise for his behavior. I feel that it is a courageous move for him to say this and I think we should accept his apology
2. On the other hand, after the meeting between Increase and other students and student representatives, we all agree that it is the job of warden to keep our hostel in good order and tidiness. We all agree that when activities (or activity preparation) are being conducted in hostels, we should try not to disturb other residents. Students are encouraged to use Wan Lan Louge for their activities because there are more space there and it may cause less inconvinence to others especially at night. We will continue to rely on our wardens and student unions to formulate regulations and guidelines on these.
3. I admire Increase for voicing his feeling, for himself and for others, and complement your enthusiasm in College activities. However, calling your teacher "Disgrace of Shaw College" and using rude words in the facebook by others may not be the best way to express our discontentment. It may even damage the public image of Shaw College as well as CUHK.Let us learn to put ourselves in other people's shoes. Imagine if we say (or write) something rude to people and were being criticized openly on the facebook without a forum to explain ourselves, that is a bit unfair. Let us try to learn ACCOMMODATION and FOREGIVENESS. Afterall, we are all Shaw people and CUHK students. I saw Prof. Chan truely regret what he has done/said and there were tears in his eyes when he said he could not lift up his head in Shaw. Shaw students, let us put this behind us and accept our teacher's sincere apologies.
4. I am very impressed by representatives of SCSU and Hostel II for their calmness and objective views. I am equally appreciative to Increase Ming's openness and ready-to-reconcil attitude. Last but not least, I am very grateful for your passion in the College, students and alumni. It only shows that you care about SC and CUHK. Let us put this behind us and work for strengthening our College in the future.
I apologise for not able to write to you in Chinese as I don't know how to type in Chinese. I also hope that in this season of Mid-Autumn Festival, we can repair the broken relationship between us. I have sent a hamper with mooncake and food to Hostel II Mr. Ricky Lam for you to share. I will also come to join your party on 5 Oct bringing a very big mooncake with me.
